Despide the financial gloom, 2008 is going to be a record year for new otel openings, and with properties offering introductory rates, you can stay in style without blowing the budget. Here are some of the best deals. All rates are per rom per night, based on two sharing, unless otherwise started.

W Istanbul (whotels.com) opens on 1 April in the Besiktas district, which is known for its glitzy destination restaurants, bars and cafes. there will be 137 rooms, including suites and duplexes many with their own private gardens, balconies and terraces. Introductory rates of £250 are available until 30 June and include guaranteed room upgrade to a W Fabulous room, entrance and tickets to museums and palaces and complimentary snacks. That's a good discount on the usual rate for a W Fabulous room, which will eventually be £368, room only.
