Akaretler Row Houses

Akaretler Row Houses were built in 1875 by Sarkis Balyan by the order of Sultan Abdülaziz as an annex to Dolmabahçe Palace for the accommodation of the palace staff.

Akaretler Row Houses have been leased by Net Holding A.Ş. in 1987 from the General Directorate of Foundations based on a Built and Operate Agreement until 2036. This contract, has then been transferred to Akarnet Konaklama Tesisleri Yatırım ve İşletme A.Ş., established to complete the investment and operate the Premises.

Net Holding A.Ş. transferred the shares of Akarnet Konaklama Tesisleri Yatırım ve İşletme A.Ş. to T. Garanti Bankası A.Ş.

In December 2005, Hayat Tourism Co. together with its shareholders took over the shares of the company, and to prevent any misunderstanding, the company name has been changed to Akaretler Tourism Investments Co. As per the agreement with the General Directorate of Foundations, Akaretler Tourism Investments Co has the first right of refusal.

Serdar Bilgili with his project team had an indepth pre-study of the historical background of the property in order to be able to reflect its soul correctly and the creative work had been completed parallel to it.

Akaretler Row Houses crowns a space totalling 60,000 m², of which 55,000 m² is covered and 5,000 m² is open space.

Located in the heart of Beşiktaş, Istanbul, the project includes luxury residences, high-end designer shops, offices, a carpark, and W Istanbul.

Akaretler Row Houses/W Istanbul was one of the five outstanding developments that have been selected as winners of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) 2009 Awards for Excellence: Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) competition. The Awards for Excellence competition is widely regarded as the land use industry's most prestigious recognition program.
