Palazzo Corpi Project

The property is located in the center neighborhood of Beyoğlu, , which is one of the oldest and most vibrant areas of Istanbul, near to Marmara Pera Hotel, Pera Palace Hotel, Turkcell corporate headquarters, many foreign embassies, and Istiklal Street (the most important high street on European side of Istanbul).

Palazzo Corpi was the first U.S. Government-owned diplomatic premises in the world. The U.S. Consulate General in Istanbul has been headquartered at the Palazzo Corpi from 1937 until 2003.

Designed in 1873 by the Italian architect Giacomo Leoni, it was intended as a palatial residence for Ignazzio Corpi, a prominent ship owner and benefactor at the time.

The building contains classical facade, grand stairway lined with frescoes & paintings, upstairs rooms covered in classical subjects, ceilings of Great Hall with depict mythological figures such as Diana, Neptune, Muses, Graces, and Bacchantes.

The property consists of the Main building (Palazzo Corpi), Annex building, and Chancery building.
